If you will take the time to listen, God will give you a Word at the hour of your greatest need.  Never let what you are going through drown out the voice of God.  Keep your mind and spirit open and free so to hear what God has to say about what you are going through. Phi. 4:8 … whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Do not focus on the negatives…what Satan has done…you troubles, hurt and disappointments. Focus on God now and the Word that He gives you in that hour. This is the word that the Lord wants you to receive. Mark 9:23 … If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Regardless of the situation, God wants you to believe Him. Believe Genesis 17:1 …I am the Almighty God; Exodus 6:6 …I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens … and I will rid you out of…bondage… Exodus 6:7 …I will take you to me … and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God. Isaiah 49:23 …I am the LORD: … they shall not be         ashamed that wait for me. John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life: John 10:9 I am the door: John 15:1 I am the true vine.

Prevailing in prayer is what God wants you to do. Prevailing prayer will get the answer. Prevailing prayer will enable you to see the victory. Nothing short of prevailing prayer is what you need. The devil wants you to shut up. He wants you to hurt so bad that you withdraw, close up, and not say a word. But get angry at what’s happening in your life. Say to yourself, this is not God’s best for me. Then get your fight back, and go in to pray and stay there until … and keep going in to pray until … We learn a mighty lesson from our friend Jacob. When he decided to obey God; when he decided to go on despite the way things had gone for him in life, the scripture reads, Genesis 32:1 And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. You will not be alone when you make up your mind to go forward in obedience to the Lord. When you consider the source of what you are going through and say to yourself, I am going to obey God and go on with my life, angels will come to meet you and to help you. God will never leave you alone, nor will He leave you without the help you need.

Out of Jacob’s distress, out of the midst of what He was going through, he prayed. Your best time in prayer will be when you are in the midst of pain, hurt, trouble or disappointment. The best time to pray is when you do not feel like praying because things look so bad. That is the kind of praying that really does not come from you. It comes out of the midst of you, your spirit. You are overwhelmed. You do not know what to say. You hurt so badly. You feel so lost. This is when the Holy Spirit takes over in you. He becomes your strength to pray and prevail in prayer until. Then you will find like Jacob your answer to prayer and your blessings as a result of prayer.  But note, first the blessing then the manifestation.

Seek God.  I Chron. 16:11 “Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.” This becomes a priority in your life. Seek God. This is the thought: your heart desire is God; your will is always set on God; you live for God only; you set yourself to know Him and His power. Obey God and His word and you will prosper. Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Stay in God’s presence. John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” Let the word of God dwell in you richly. John 15:7 “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Walk by faith. Never be moved by what you see but by faith in the word of God. Pray always.  Never give up. Keep your request before the Lord. Prevail until the answer comes or the change comes or the manifestation comes.

When you are in trouble and the enemy won’t leave you alone say to yourself what God has said to you in Isa. 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.” When you are sick and can’t get well stand on I Peter 2:24, Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. When you are weak from the attacks of the enemy say to yourself Psalms 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Things will turn and work for your good when you bring the word in on it.

There are some who can not understand how God can bless you while the whole world is falling apart around you. There are some who can not understand how you can keep your peace while everybody else is falling apart in fear. The world can not understand how you can be blessed and fruitful in a dry place, in a desert place, while others are drying up. But we serve a mighty God; we serve a great God; we serve a God who honors his word to his people. You can trust God regardless of the circumstances around you. You can trust Him regardless of the situation that you find yourself in. If you can believe, God will show you His glory and the power of His right hand.

Jesus said, “… whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” With the Spirit of God in you, always, hear God.  He wants you to hear His Word. Then God wants you to do what He says. “Whosoever hear these sayings and do them.” It is not enough to hear what God says, you have got to do what God says. In other words practice what you hear, live the word that God has planted in your spirit. Then you have the assurance that you are like a wise person, who built his/her house upon a rock: 25 “And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” This is God’s assurance to you. This is His mind to you. Receive it, take it in and make it part of your life. Act like there is no one else in the world, especially in this situation, and take the word of God and stand.

Remember the woman that Jesus talked about in the Bible (Luke 18) who pleaded before the judge regarding her adversary? Her attitude was: I will not quit until I get what I came here for. My cause is right and the law confirms it. I will be here tomorrow and the next day, and the day after. I will give you no rest until my petition is granted. I will come each day until I get what I have asked for. Did she get what she was there for? Yes. Why? Because she was determined. She was like Jacob when he wrestled with the angel at the brook of Jabbok. He said to the angel, “I will not let you go except thou bless me”. Christians today who are getting their prayers answered, who are enjoying all the blessings found in God’s word are doing so for three reasons. First, they know that God is real and His word is true. Second, they are determined. And third, they know certain key things pertaining to this spiritual life: They know what they want. They know it is promised in the word of God. They know they have met the conditions of it being received. They know God is a good God. They know God does not lie. They refuse all temptations to stop believing. They are determined – fully persuaded – that God will answer them. And, they take home what they came for. Like Abraham, after they patiently endure, they obtain the promise.

Say the following until you know it like your own right hand:

I know what I want.

I know that it is promised in the word of God.

I know I have met the conditions for receiving it.

I know my sins have been washed away in the blood of Jesus.

I know that God is a good God.

I know God does not lie.

I know that I am going to stand, steadfast, praising God until I     receive the promise.

I will let nothing cause me to doubt or stop believing.

I am determined, fully persuaded, that God will honor His word to    me.

I will patiently endure all I must go through, knowing that I will receive the promise and hold in hand all those things I prayed to my God for. This is my faith. This is my determination!!!

For the reality of your being a child of God to have an impact on the enemy, it must first have an impact on you.  When you know who you are and whose you are, the enemy will have to respect you. No, he will never stop fighting you, but he knows that he is limited in what he can do to you. Why?  Because you do not belong to him.  You belong to God. And the devil knows that it is a dangerous thing to fall into the hands of an angry God. And he is not going to get in trouble with God because of you. He, the devil, is not going to shorten his time on earth because of you. So stand before God and keep your faith. Do only what God tells you to do and you will see the victory in your life.
