RENEW YOUR SPIRIT

Eph 4:23-24 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Those who believe on the Lord Jesus the Christ are being renewed through and by the word of God and their faith. The child of God, those who believe on Christ Jesus, must meditate the word of God everyday, everyday. The word of God is going to renew you. The word of God is going to renew your mind. It will renew your mind; it will renew your thinking.

The New Creation in the earth has to be renewed in the spirit of their (your) minds. This goes down deep into the spirit. You have to be renewed in the spirit of your mind with words that come from God and the Kingdom of Heaven.

The old mind is filled with the old ways. The old mind is filled with what we saw and heard coming up through the years. God wants the New Creation mind to be filled with His thoughts and His words… Kingdom thoughts and Kingdom words. You don’t wake up in the morning saying… “Oh, I don’t feel good or I can’t…” You wake up saying, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. And the word of God renews your mind and renews your thinking. This means your mind must be made new. It must change. You cannot be lazy about this. God does not want us to bring over into the New Creation life the old way of thinking… things from the old life. God wants the Body of Christ to be renewed. It is a process. Start now… thinking and saying and putting in your mouth everyday the word of God through faith.

Renewed Spirit

God wants the Body of Christ to be renewed in the spirit of their minds. The mind is renewed by the presence of Christ in the life of the believers.  When a person receives the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, the mind is spiritually born again. You have been made a new person. You have been made a new creation. You have been made over again. You have been given new life. No matter what circumstances you are under… what you are going through, there is a new you.

When you received Christ, there is… as far as God is concern… as far as your faith is concerned …there is a new you. Now, do you feel like you are new? No. It has nothing to do with your feeling, but it is by faith in Christ Jesus you become a New Creation. This is so awesome.

When a person receives Christ into their life they receive the mind of Christ as well. Christ places His mind into the believers mind. That is, Christ changes the believers mind to focus on God. Whereas the believer’s mind used to be centered upon the world, the flesh, the desires of the flesh, it is now centered on things of the Spirit. The believer’s mind is renewed, changed, turned around, regenerated, to focus upon God. That is your focus now. You are focused upon God and the Kingdom of Heaven.

However it is critical to remember that only Christ can renew the human mind. Only God can implant the mind of Christ in a person. Only Christ can give a person His thoughts and the Spirit to live out those thoughts. The Church, the New Creation, must live a transformed life; that is, we walk, day by day, renewing our minds, more and more. We can not stop; we stay in the word; we meditate the scriptures and our minds are being renewed.

We hang in there; we do it by faith; it does not happen over night; it does not happen in one day; but we stay with it. We keep confessing the word. I can’t tell you the number of times you may slip, you may fall back, but you hang in there. You come back. You repent. You stay with it. When you fall, get up. Confess your failures. God will forgive you. You will not feel like you are accomplishing anything. But you keep coming back. The Devil will try to make you feel guilty. But you hang in there. Stay in the word and let God transform your mind.

This is why we never stop studying the word. God is in His word. God is His word. Life is in the Word. And the more word you study the more word and the more life you get into you. The Spirit of God is focusing your mind more and more on spiritual things. We are to keep our minds on spiritual things. We are to cast down the imaginations and every thought that comes against the word of God. If it is not in the word of God, reject it. Cast it away form you. Don’t let it come into your mind.

Now look at v24, “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness! This is awesome!!! This takes that which is like God and puts it in you. Put on the new man. We are to put on the new man. We are the New Creation in Christ now. We are new creatures. We have been made new. You are not standing on the realities of the old life. You are living new life now, and only the word of God can give to you what all of that means. You keep studying the word and the Spirit and the word forms the new life in you.

The word of God gives you new thoughts, new ways of thinking, and new ideas. God manifests His life, His anointing in you, His power in you, His faith in you. He manifests change in you and He will take you and your prayer life and put His word in you. You become a new person from the inside out. You become a new person in Christ Jesus. You become New Creations in Christ Jesus. You take the word you put in you and you will find that you become the word you put into you by faith. In other word, the word of God will take form in you. Thus you become a person that lives the New Life in Christ Jesus.
