CALLED TO WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE

Walk in newnessRom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

~~~~~~~
The Spirit of God quickened this passage to me as I waited before Him for a word: “we also should walk in newness of life.” Understanding that we are a new creation now; that we no longer are under the law but under grace; that the old life under Adam no longer has control over our lives; we, Christians, sons of Abraham, the Body of Christ in the earth today, should seek to “walk in newness of life”.
Isn’t it amazing how God will take sinners, those who have done wrong against the Kingdom of God, and forgive them and let them walk in newness of life? This new life should be our focus now. God wants us to manifest this life in the earth where we live.
The new life in Christ comes to us as a result of Christ death, burial and resurrection. We have come to an end of the old life under Adam. We no longer can keep the law of God. We have found out that we can’t. We can’t be good, nor can we do good enough to please God.
So the life we live now is by faith in Christ Jesus. Through Him we move and have our being. Only through Him, through Christ, and through faith, are we able to live the life that God would have us to live. Thus we express or give expression to the life of God in the earth. Let this go down into your spirit: “God wants you to live the new life in Christ now… not the old life under the law”.
Paul wrote it in II Cor 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (a new creation): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” This becomes the focus of our lives now. As we were about keeping the law of God, now God wants us to be just as committed to walking in the newness of life.
New Experience
This becomes our new experience. This becomes the life we live now; yea, the life we have now – a new life. We enter the newness of life in Christ Jesus. All things… everything becomes new. Only the word and the Spirit of God can open this life to us as we seek to live it by faith.
This, what we call new life, is really the life that Adam and Eve fell from. This is the life that God intended for us to live all the time. But because of disobedience man fell to a carnal life, a worldly life, a life of sin and shame. But through Christ we get the chance to live out God’s will in the earth. We get to be what He intended for us to be. Thus… we walk in newness of life through Christ… through faith.
Mankind, since Genesis, gets the opportunity to live out God’s plan for creating them. We can have the life that He wanted mankind to have from the beginning. We can live out God’s purpose. Thus, we can fulfill God’s will and God’s plan. And, I might add that this also brings the blessing back into the lives of all who believe and walk by faith in this new life. You not only get a new life but you get empowerment, the blessing, to demonstrate the reality of the Kingdom of God here on earth. You will be blessed. Your seed will be blessed to show forth the glory of God in the earth… and to open the way for God to manifest on the earth what is in heaven.
If there is a question on whether we are going to make it, be successful, overcome, prosper in our ways, then all questions are settled. You are in the Kingdom of God now, and there are no defeats for those who are in the Kingdom of God.
There is only success for those who walk by faith and who walk in obedience to God and His Word. For the life that comes in to us, into our spirits, comes from the Word of God, and that life is the Word; and God’s word never fails. It will accomplish the purpose for which it is sent.
Paul picks it up in Romans the 7th chapter by writing in v6 “But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
Do you see it? We should serve in “newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter” (the law). Gal 3:24 opens to us that “the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster (under the law). 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
Here, we gain another concept: We understand being in Christ by faith; now it is revealed that we have put Him on. We become His Body. He becomes our life. But the point for now is that we serve God… in newness of spirit and not under the law.
We are now in Christ by faith, not by the law; most of all… most of all… we are the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. And this was where Adam and Eve were before they fell down into a carnal life, a life of the flesh… a life of sin.
It is important for us to plant this seed, this word into our spirits. We want it to take root in us. People will see what we are standing on, and how we are living by faith and seek to walk in the same path that we are walking in.
In Galatians, it reads: Gal 5:16, “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.”
So we are to walk in the spirit. This is how Adam and Eve walked before they failed. Our walk is in the spirit now. This is something that many never get to experience because they keep themselves under the law. They try hard to obey the law but fail. But those who walk by faith and walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus learn to walk in the spirit. They take the word of God by faith and meditate the word until it comes to life in them.
Let me just break this down: You can not live the life that God wants you to live without the knowledge of the word of God. The word of God has to become real to you. The word of God has to be in you and become life in you. This is what Adam and Eve lost because of disobedience.
The life of God, the Word, withdrew from them. They lived on, but they lived a carnal life, a worldly life, a life of sin separated from God and the life of God.
The new life, God’s life, is lived out by faith by the word of God. The new life in you comes forth by the activation of your faith in the Lord Jesus the Christ. Your faith in Him and in the Word in you brings forth the manifestation of the life of God in the earth.
This is the same way we see prayers answered, healings, overcoming the enemies of our lives… and on and on. The life in the word, the seed, manifests the life of God in the believer by faith.
We walk in the newness of life by walking in the spirit… in the word of God… by faith. You have the Holy Spirit who lives in you and who will guide you in all you do. He guides you by the word through your spirit. Again, that word comes to life in you, the believer, by faith. That word comes alive in your spirit though faith. And you can say that the word of God will be life to you in all you do in the earth.
Thus you are to be guided by the word or the life of God everyday. Gal 5:25 reads, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” This is what God intended from the beginning. Adam and Eve lived in… walked in… this life by faith before they fell. Now God wants us to return to this life. God wants us to manifest this life in the earth. He wants us to return to this life by faith… and return to a commitment to the word of God.
Now, this takes us to Rom 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
“… be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
We no longer are to conform to this world. We no longer are to be like this world. We are to conform to the Kingdom of God. We are to take on the likeness of the Kingdom of God the Kingdom of Heaven. We walk in newness of life on this earth now. And the word of God orders our steps. And listen, as He is, as God is, so are we in this world (I John 4:17).
We have been born-again of God. We have His Spirit living in us now. We have His word alive in us now. Through His word He leads us and guides us and teaches us the ways of His Kingdom. We are to conform to God’s ways not the ways of the world.
God wants us to take on His likeness. He wants us to leave the carnal life, the worldly life, and return to life in the Spirit with Him. This is the life – we call it new life – that was cut off to us because of the fall of Adam and Eve. Through Christ, His death and resurrection, this life is available to us by faith. We get to live the new life, the life that Adam and Eve failed to live.
Now, what is the key? How do we get there? Here it is: “… be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Your mind has to be renewed. Your mind has to be renewed by the word of God. If you are going to walk in the newness of life, your mind has to return to the place where God created it in the beginning. Remember, there is no time with God. You have to have a new way of thinking. You have to have a new way of translating and processing the thoughts that come to you and that goes from you.
Now every thought comes through the word by the Spirit of God. You see everything in relationship to the word of God. You do all that you do in relationship with or to the word of God by the Spirit of God. Every challenge, every attack, spiritual warfare, has to pass through the word. Your successes, your overcoming, your victories, your hurts and pain, all, passes through the word of God which cannot fail. Everything… everything in this new life in Christ is governed by the word of God. For the word puts you in harmony… in union with God and the Kingdom of Heaven.
So we are called to walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus. Our lives change as we process the word into our born again spirit. How do we get the word into our spirits? We II Tim 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Then in Prov 4:20 “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
Isa 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. Do this and walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.
